Care Fertility

The Company Profile

Care Fertility logoCARE fertility is one of the world’s leading providers of fertility treatment, genetic diagnosis and screening techniques and associated fertility preservation procedures.

The Business Situation

The challenges for the business were around resources to enable the business to grow, in particular, recruiting specialists and having a clear succession plans at all levels of management to enable the Directors to operate more strategically.

There was a need for the next tier of management to take on more responsibility in terms of their leadership and management role within the organisation and that developing the coaching capability in the organisation was a key part of realising the growth of the business.

The Approach

The approach was to develop the coaching capability within CARE fertility, this was based on 4 main visionary aims:

  1. To generate buy in, ensuring the strategy/direction and goals are effectively communicated and staff are really engaged in the implementation of this
  2. Enabling colleagues to recognise problems and opportunities, develop their solution skills so that they may present viable, well thought out solutions to the next level of leadership
  3. To work with colleagues to define their role so that they recognise and understand their remit and know they have the ownership of these tasks and willingly deliver solutions
  4. Develop leadership skills at all levels so that each manager has a clear understanding of their role. They can prioritise their activities in line with the bigger picture and confidently delegate effectively to their team.

This Developing your Leadership Skills course enabled me to understand the context of my role and know which leadership style to use and how to develop coaching skills. The trainer gave us the opportunity to discuss real scenarios with colleagues in small structured groups which encouraged open and positive participation, as well as a chance for self-reflection and evaluation. The course helped to structure my skills/thinking on how I will go forward with coaching.
